penina Rose
Penina Rose is a dry sparkling wine made out of 3 red grapes varieties typical for the Upper Vipava Valley. Its beauty is the typical freshness of the Vipava wines. The sparkling bubbles are obtained by charmat technology.
 


Vintage: 2009

Variety: 50% barbera, 30% cabernet sauvignon, 20% merlot

Grape growing and winemaking details:
  • Vineyard: Terraced vineyards
  • Harvest: By hand, end of September.
  • Maceration :24 hours by 28 ºC.
  • Fermentation:combined with maceration, secondary fermentation by charmat method.
  • Maturation:After secondary fermentation 4 months maturing on yeast.

Wine description:
  • Colour: gentle red with shades of apricot.
  • Nose: Intense fruity smell, mainly Barbera smell (blackcurrants, cherry) with fruity tones of Cabernet sauvignon (currents).
  • Palate:Fresh, friuty, medium bodied sparkling wine.
  • Harmony:Slightly higher acidity combines well with the residual sugar forms fresh harmonic entity.
  • Ageing potential: 3 years

  • Alcohol:1,75%
  • Sugar content: 11,48 g/l residual sugar.
  • Total acidity: 5,9 g/l.
  • Serving temperature: 6 – 8 ºC.
  • Marriage of food and wine: Aperitifs; also goes well alone with all kinds of food.
