How did it all start?
In the distant year of 1907 a group of farmers in Podnanos founded a small dairy. Their cows pastured on the green fields of unspoiled nature and gave milk of excellent quality. The milk was so good that the farmers were transporting it with horse-carts to Trieste to sell it on the market. The business expanded and the dairy was growing. At that time the machinery was still powered by a steam engine. Can you imagine? But for that time it was modern technology. The production was interrupted only in the time of two world wars.
After the WW2 the dairy was constantly upgrading its technology and the production was increasing. That is why in 1982 it moved from Podnanos to Vipava where a new dairy equipped with modern technology was built. New products, new technology, and new scientific knowledge about dairy products ... But in the constant whirl of novelties something remains unchanged – milk. In the Vipava Dairy we still make the Yoviland dairy products from the excellent milk by cows that graze on the green pastures in the midst of unspoiled nature.
